Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef roast
  • 2 cups red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup gingersnap cookies, crushed

Preparation

Marinate beef in vinegar, water, onion, cloves, and bay leaves for 2-3 days in the fridge.

Remove beef, pat dry, and brown in oil.

Strain marinade and add to pot with beef; simmer for 3 hours.

Thicken gravy with flour and crushed gingersnaps.

Slice and serve with gravy.
